SANTIAGO BRUNI

My name is Santiago Bruni, and I’m an Art Director and poster illustrator based in Buenos Aires, Argentina. I studied Advertising at Miami Ad School, where I was nominated for awards like D&AD New Blood and won the Top Dogs Awards. I’ve worked with brands like Netflix, Shudder, AMC, MUBI and E!, and I’m currently a Visual Designer at Boogieman Media and artist at Hero Complex Gallery. As a huge pop culture fan, I bring passion and storytelling into every project I create.
El Eternauta.
The day it premiered on Netflix felt like a special day. A day when, taking advantage of the long weekend, it seemed like we were all doing the same thing: watching El Eternauta.

I loved the series, but I think it's important to highlight this because Argentina is an incredibly rich country for science fiction and horror productions. I don't know why, but this has never been fully explored in film and TV series. In any case, along with the blockbuster El Eternatura, plus Demián Rugna's work in When Evil Lurks, Terrified, Cristian Ponce's Historia de lo Oculto, and The Path into the Abyss in the world of video games, it seems that little by little, that door is opening more and more.

To celebrate the release of the series, I wanted to make a vinyl record, in addition to a poster. Music, and even the vinyl record itself, play a very present role in the series, and I felt it was necessary to give it a beautiful representation.

I also had a lot of fun making the stripe that covers the left side of the vinyl. I've always thought it was a really nice graphic detail on vinyl, and I think it would be great if the Eternauta edition came with one. I'm also taking the opportunity to give the comic a little treat with a mini Juan Salvo.
